Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced camps available.
Our Youth Sailing Camp Program offers a kid-friendly, yet intensive sailing experiences to students age 6-15 by combining on-the-water experience with classroom activities. With Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced camps, young sailors are able to progress through different levels at their own pace. Racing rules and tactics are taught at the Intermediate and Advanced level so students may participate in local and regional regattas.
2019 Program Registration is now available. You can CLICK HERE to REGISTER for our Summer Day Camp.
We are located at the Bow To Stern Boating Center, 290 Blackwell Point Loop Rd in Oriental, on the protected waters of Smith Creek. The park like setting, with 200+ feet of waterfront, is perfect for our Youth Programs.
This is our 12th summer of operation, expanding and growing each summer as we add boats and our sailors go on to bigger things. This year is no different as we have brought back our Race week and have added a One Design Regatta at the end of the week for sailors of all ages. This week will be August 5th – 9th and is designed for Jr. Sailors who want to improve their racing skills. Sailors in this program need to have the basics of sailing and want to learn more about racing. Opti, Sunfish, 420, FJ and small keelboat races will be part of the week along with racing rules and tactics. The sailors will enhance their sailing skills so that they will be better prepared to sail in High School and College.
Registration is now underway for the Youth Sailing Courses for summer 2019. There are week long “camps” from June through August. Read the PROGRAM AND CLASS DESCRIPTIONS for detailed information about each class/program. Check out the SUMMER CAMP CALENDAR and REGISTER for our summer programs.
More than just a sailing school…
In addition to the sailing curriculum, Bow To Stern strives to teach life skills and reinforce the natural leadership of the students. On and off the water, students are encouraged to display respect, humility, stewardship, and cooperation for the greater good. It is our hope and highest aspiration to help build the strong foundations within an individual that support long-lasting, healthy relationships with others, the earth, and themselves.
