lodging options for families staying in Oriental, or
near-by locations.
What are the hours of your program?Program
Times 9:00am – 5:00pm. Drop-off and
pick-up may be no more than 30 minutes prior and 30 minutes after scheduled
times (8:30 – 5:30)Where is the drop-off and pick-up location?
Drop-off and Pick-up will be at the Town of Oriental Public Kayak Launch (next to Public Boat Launch, in the western-most section of the map). Some days, pick-up may be at an alternate
location due to inclement weather (Bow to Stern Yacht Service Office located on the corner of Hodges and Water St.) or a
swimming day (Village Club Health & Fitness located on NC-55). We will inform you any days that alternate
pick-up will be used or a sign will be left on the boat racks.
What do I bring each day?Youth Sailors MUST provide their own:
USCG approved PFD that is sized appropriately
Water shoes that fit appropriately (preferably closed
toe)
Lunch and beverage (preferably water) each day
(cooler/refrigerator is NOT available)
Water bottle full of water each day
Sunscreen (already applied
in the AM), hat and sunglassesWhat happens if the weather is not safe for sailing?In case of inclement weather, we will have class-room time at Bow to
Stern Yacht Services’ Office which is walking distance from the water/boat ramp.
